Our 2019 headline partner
Clifford Chance is a leading global law firm with offices across five continents. We provide exceptional commercial law solutions to clients all around the world, but it’s not just the scale of our operation that sets us apart: it’s our people too. We are committed to bringing together and developing extraordinary, diverse talent and nurturing an environment where people feel free to be themselves.
Our undergraduate and graduate initiatives are designed to provide individuals with the platform to launch a successful career in law. Our Spark and summer vacation schemes offer initial insights into the vocation and our training contract will transform individuals from talented beginners to professional lawyers.
We work with multinationals, governments and regulatory bodies across our seven practice areas. To find solutions to our clients' complex challenges and provide the level of excellence that is expected, we must build the very best team made up of people from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.
National Student Pride
First started in 2005, National Student Pride is an annual event held in February for students from across the UK. Each year more than 1,700 students from around 170 universities and colleges attend the event. In 2018, over 50,000 people also joined the digitally streamed panels for a weekend of discussion aimed at empowering young LGBT+ people.
National Student Pride is dedicated to opening doors to students, graduates and those with voices who are otherwise lost in a vibrant but expansive LGBT+ community. We have proven that we’re ahead of the curve, persistently breaking taboos and empowering young minds.
We work towards our important agenda by bringing together debates, cinema screenings, exhibitions, social events and a graduate recruitment fair to create the largest gathering of the UK’s LGBT+ student and graduate talent. Entering its 14th year, National Student Pride 2019 will be held on the weekend of 22–24 February 2019 at the University of Westminster.
Clifford Chance & National Student Pride's partnership
The first ever law firm to partner with National Student Pride back in 2013, Clifford Chance has long been a champion of the LGBT+ community. Since then, our rewarding relationship with National Student Pride has gone from strength to strength. We’ve successfully increased our recruitment of those who identify as LGBT+ and we’re proud to be a gold sponsor of the 2019 National Student Pride festival.
At the 2019 Awards we want to once again showcase our partnership in order to tap into the phenomenal reach TARGETjobs has across all university campuses. Together, we hope to raise the awareness and attendance of National Student Pride among the LGBT+ student community, as well as highlight Clifford Chance’s ongoing commitment as an LGBT+ employer of choice that’s dedicated to recruiting and supporting diverse talent.
Tom Guy, founder of National Student Pride, commented: 'Just like our event, these Awards champion organisations that want to empower and inspire young LGBT+ people – and that’s why we are so excited to be involved. It is also a fantastic opportunity to enhance our existing relationship with Clifford Chance, which continues to prioritise and deliver diversity in the workplace.'
